Hyaluronic Acid B5 Serum Recipe

What Is Hyaluronic Acid Serum?

Hyaluronic acid serum is a topical solution used for anti-aging and moisturizing that acts by plumping and preventing fine lines and wrinkles. It is a polysaccharid that is produced in the human body, with about 50 percent of it in the skin. It’s also found in tissues and the eyes.

Hyaluronic acid is used in several different ways. It is injected as products such as Juvederm, it is used as topical serums, and it is used in moisturizers, creams and masques.

As of 2015, hyaluronic acid is replacing collagen as an injectable filler to temporarily disguise the signs of aging. Because hyaluronic acid attracts water like a sponge, it creates a plumper look and it lasts longer – from three to 12 months. And since it isn’t a substance that the body doesn’t recognize, it is less likely to cause an adverse reaction.

Using hyaluronic acid-based moisturizers and creams may not be effective, according to Beauty Editor, especially for women who live in a dry climate and already have dry skin. The hyaluronic acid molecule is too large to actually pass through the skin topically, so the only thing it actually can do is draw moisture to the skin and create a barrier to prevent it from leaving.

Does Hyaluronic Acid Dry Out Your Skin?

Because it is a product that is meant to help hydrate your skin, some people are surprised to find that hyaluronic acid serums may make their skin feel drier.

This is usually due to the way that it is applied.

Hyaluronic acid, as a humectant, can absorb more than 1,000 times its weight in water!

If you apply this serum to dry skin, especially in a dry environment, the hyaluronic acid can start to draw some of the moisture from your skin and pull it into itself. That leaves you with the sensation of drier skin rather than more hydrated skin.

To prevent this from happening, you can either apply this to wet skin, right after having washed your face or right after spritzing on a toner. Another option is to apply it in combination with a lotion like a homemade facial moisturizer. (You can either apply this underneath the moisturizer or mix them together and apply as a lotion.)

When Should You Use Hyaluronic Acid Serum?

It’s recommended that to use twice a day.   Once in the morning after washing your face, and one in the evening right after washing your face, apply it while you skin is still damp.

How to make your own Hyaluronic Acid B5 Serum?

I have 2 recipes share with you, one without preservative, and 1 with preservative.  The serum that made without preservative must be kept inside the fridge all the time, it may turn bad faster and easily too, always check your serum if it smell bad before you use it.

Recipe 1 (without preservative):

1/4 cup  Organic Rose Water or Distilled Water
1/4 tsp  Hyaluronic Acid Powder
1/4 tsp  Vitamin B5 Calcium Pantothenate Powder

Prepare a clean, sanitized and dried glass container with lid, pour the organic rose water or distilled water  into the container, sprinkle the Hyaluronic Acid Powder and Vitamin B5 Calcium Pantothenate Powder onto the water, you don’t need to mix them, close the lid and put it in the fridge overnight.  The powers will be absorbed into the water and create a gel like serum overnight.

Transfer your serum into a sanitized glass bottle with eye dropper.

Because there’s no preservative added in this serum, you will need to keep your serum in the fridge, do not touch the glass dropper with your fingers or any other objects, because it may contaminate your serum after you put the glass dropper back into the bottle.
